Bringing Healthcare to the Heart of Chibra Village, Meghalaya!
Access to quality healthcare remains a challenge for many rural communities, and addressing this need is at the core of North East Cancer Hospital and Research Institute’s mission. In a dedicated effort to promote community wellness, Oasis India (NGO), in collaboration with North East Cancer Hospital & Research Institute (NECHRI) one of the leading cancer hospitals in the Northeast region, successfully organized a Health Camp at Chibra Village, Meghalaya. This initiative aimed to provide essential medical support, raise awareness about cancer screening, and offer expert consultations to the local villagers, ensuring that healthcare reaches the grassroots level.
A Collective Effort for Better Health
The health camp saw an enthusiastic welcome from Mr. Papu Singson, Project Lead (Meghalaya Project) of Oasis India, who greeted the distinguished team of doctors and staff from NECHRI. The medical team included:

Medical Support & Cancer Screening
The camp offered a range of health services, including general medical check-ups, specialized consultations, and guidance on disease prevention. One of the key focuses of NECHRI was cancer screening, particularly for head and neck cancers, which remain a major health concern in the region. Early detection and timely intervention can save lives, and the efforts of NECHRI’s oncologists played a crucial role in raising awareness and providing essential screenings.
In addition to cancer screenings, villagers received dental check-ups, orthopaedic consultations, and physiotherapy sessions, ensuring holistic healthcare support. Children and elders alike benefitted from this initiative, making it a truly inclusive event.
